Cherry Garden

Last of the last was dinner at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore's Cherry Garden. I've always heard how good and authentic the Cantonese cuisine is, and I finally got to try it for myself. We had fun ordering so much food!

Pretty blooms on every table.

Crispy fish skin which I will never know how to appreciate.

Rich broth of shrimps, scallops, crabmeat, conpoy, maitake mushrooms and vegetables. You know it's super flavourful when you know it's boiled using so many ingredients.

Double-boiled trio mushroom soup with carrot and snow fungus.

Crispy wasabi-aioli prawns with fresh mango and tobiko. SO GOOD.

Oven-baked honey marinated cod fillet with black pepper. This signature cod is really the best of the best.

Steamed cod fillet in homemade soya sauce. Equally nice!

Steamed bamboo clams with minced garlic, served with vermicelli.

Wok-fried fresh scallops with celery and mushrooms. Oh I love the juicy scallops.

Cherry Garden’s Peking duck with traditional condiments. Realised I didn't take photos of the dish itself. Perhaps I'm just too uninterested.

The remaining duck meat was used to whip up another dish.

Wok-fried chicken with cashew nuts and dried chilli.

Stir-fried seasonal vegetables with minced garlic and assorted mushrooms.

Homemade fried pancake with azuki bean, served with vanilla ice-cream. Love the pancake but it's portion is really small.

Cream of avocado served with maple walnut ice cream.

Chilled cream of mango with sago pearls, pomelo and lime sorbet. I like this mango and lemon combination.

Cherries in nui er hong and aged kuei hua wine cocktail jelly served with refreshing lychee sorbet.

Double-boiled hasma with red dates.

What a satisfying meal! I will be back!
