We reached there while it was drizzling so the whole place did feel a little romantic lol.


Curry Mustard Fries. I just can't emphasise enough how good this is.

Asian Sliders


Taro Fries that came with the above Asian Sliders. I don't like taro but the fries is so awesome. Now I know why HOUSE has a full page of menu on the fries alone.

Bay Prawn Capellini. This was a little disappointment cuz it tasted like fried beehoon. Or maybe I just don't like capellini.

Honey Chicken Thigh. It looked burnt but it isn't.

Pork Cutlet (I think so).

Love this Key Lime Pie! It's like eating my favourite meringue tart.

Warm Chocolate Toffee Cake, which is also good.

And then it's the 3 lovely cups of cappuccino with 3 different types of latte art. I'm impressed.

Christmas means feasting and so here's on the international buffet dinner I had for last Christmas at Makan@Jen, the all-day dining restaurant of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore.

Open kitchen concept but without the smell of an oily kitchen.
I didn't take photos of other foods but I couldn't resist a shot of this roasted turkey.

After dinner was a tour around the hotel.

The city view from the pool is really awesome.

Also located on level 19 is the poolside bar, BayWatch@Jen, which has view extending to the Marina Bay area.

Somehow I think my favourite to-go place for western food is The Connoisseur Concerto. Perhaps it's also because I got the loyalty card. Anyway, this time round is at Changi Airport T3, my other favourite place.

 Choco-Banana Frappe

Tangy Mango Chicken Wings. The chilli sauce that came along with it was powerful.

Creamy Chicken & Mushroom. I order this quite frequently ever since my favourite Penne Mama Mia was taken out of the menu.

 Baked Bisque Whitefische

Zesta Cheesecake. Zesty!

 Mascar'misu Tipple. Love the creative cup-like presentation!

The Rose Veranda is such a comfy place for a leisure high tea session. And even the name sounds sounds pretty.

I only have photos of the desserts cuz the food items have already been snapped up by the time I reached.


But it's totally alright because I was there for the sweet treats actually.

Our sofa seats overlooked the lobby, which was immersed in the festive mood.

This is the 17-foot tall Candy Sweet Christmas Tree at the grand lobby of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. Part of a fundraising campaign, guests can reserve any of the candies to bring home.

So pretty right?

After using the previous blog layout for close to 4 years, I finally took time to recreate something new. I'm glad my HTML knowledge is still in me. And while looking back, I was stunned that I have been blogging since 11 years ago.

So now I present you with larger images, simplified layout and new content!

Supply & Demand was almost full house when I went there without a reservation. Hence I was seated near high human traffic but the food certainly made up for it.

Fresh Lime Fizz, which was very diluted towards the bottom.

Garlic Truffle Fries. The taste was there but I'm not a fan of chunky cut fries. I prefer thin cut ones.


Choice of chicken prepared the way the chef decides. We ended up with roast chicken, which was surprisingly good.

Frutti di mare alla panna e aglio (Garlic infused cream sauce with mixed seafood). I had my seafood substituted with just prawns and so it might look plain but trust me, the cream sauce was amazing.

We then headed to Max Brenner Chocolate Bar.  No meal is complete without desserts, right?

Pure Chocolate Truffle Granita and Banana Split Latte in unique Alice cups. The other side of the cup reads "DRINK ME".

Sharing (tasting for two). I'm sure Max Brenner could come up with something better than this very literal name, which simply suggests it's all tasting portions of almost whatever is on the menu.


The spread includes chocolate fondue, ice-cream waffle and chocolate sponge cake among many others.
