Got onto a cable car very quickly because I purchased the tickets online. The queue at the ticketing counter was horrendous!

The Big Buddha was indeed magnificent but we didn't climb up the tedious flight of stairs. Not in this weather.

This trip to Hong Kong was very impromptu, with the air tickets booked only half a month in advance.

My dad's company subsidised part of the expenses and I agreed on going without much research. And so to my horror, Hong Kong in September is a very much freakish idea because the weather was as hot and humid as Singapore.

Singapore Airlines

It was a morning flight but glad I still managed to catch a good sleep on the plane.

In-flight breakfast was fried noodles that tasted really good despite its looks.

This was why I insisted on booking a room with harbour view.

The Peak (Central Station) - website

The journey to The Peak was so unbearable. We had to first queue to purchase the tickets, then queue again to squeeze up the tram.

The venerable tram could only accommodate 120 persons each time and we had to wait in a very much enclosed area with many inconsiderate people.

Luckily the view was spectacular enough to make up for the long and strenuous journey.

Everyone seemed happy to be up there while I was busy capturing shots and hypnotising myself that it's not as hot as I felt.

The initial plan was to hang around till we caught a glimpse of dusk but this idea was very quickly abandoned because of the humidity.

Yes, my life revolves around the weather.

Capital Café (Wan Chai Station)

Macaroni with Ham was so-so only, especially when the 4 slices of ham were so in-your-face.

Black Truffle Scrambled Eggs on Toast was really good!

Night Wolf - Italian low fat soft gelato twisted with 66% dark chocolate served with butter crumbs, caramelised banana ice-cream, passion fruit panna cotta, brownie, chocolate chip eggettes and crunchy flakes

Greeted by Hong Kong's iconic neon lights when we returned to the hotel.

Desserts at Banana Tree made me reminiscence how I was sitting on a little stool and eating out of a flower pot at the original Banana Tree in Korea last year.


Colourful kitchenette, which is similar to the one in Korea. One thing better is - there's more seats!

We ordered one of each flavour (Banana/ Espresso/ Strawberry).

The cups used in Korea is cuter (because of its shape) but this orange cup is still a keeper.

Dinner at The Lokal was a little disappointing because of the limited menu selection. Will return for weekend brunch in future.
